Do You Want to Be Healed?
On more than one occasion that we know of, Jesus asked his patients what they wanted. To the two blind men sitting by the wayside, he said, "What will ye that I shall do unto you?" Matt. 20:32; And he questioned the man at the pool of Bethesda, "Wilt thou be made whole?" John 5:6; After hearing their answers he healed them forthwith.
Today, too, it is important that a patient should want to be healed. But although one might suppose that every sufferer would have such a desire, experience shows that this is not necessarily always so. Various mental and emotional blocks would hold one back from wanting to be healed. Sometimes they lie quite deep in thought, undetected because unrecognized. It is well worthwhile focusing the light of Truth on them to expose them.
One form of resistance to being spiritually healed is the belief that one may have to sacrifice and abandon things he values highly. However, this is really a question of reassessing and correcting one's values.
