We Can Be Helped
Our heavenly Father's help is always at hand and needs only to be acknowledged and drawn upon to bring solace in the hour of need.
The sad thing is that so many people do not turn to this divine source for help until every human dependency has failed. This must be due to lack of knowledge of God's nature; otherwise one would instinctively turn to Him as the supreme helper, realizing that His aid transcends all other. Even a glimpse of God as inexhaustible Love, omnipotent Mind, invariable Principle, encourages us to trust in Him as a more than adequate friend.
He meant so much to Mrs. Eddy that she says of Him, "God is our Father and our Mother, our Minister and the great Physician: He is man's only real relative on earth and in heaven." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 151; She then quotes David's words, "Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee." Ps. 73:25;
