He went into a ship (Matt. 13:2)
The ship in which Jesus sat was doubtless a small fishing vessel. The site of this "sermon from the boat," as it has been called, could well have been a sheltered cove on the western side of the lake between Capernaum and Bethsaida. The shore rises slightly at this point, forming a natural amphitheater with excellent acoustics.
