I am humbly grateful for the many blessings I have had through the study and application of Christian Science over a period of fifty years.

When Christian Science was presented to me, I was suffering from an ulcer in the deep layers of one eye. The eye specialist could not do much for me and predicted that I would lose the sight in my eye probably before I was sixty. This problem presented itself when my second child was born, and it lasted eleven weeks. It was a very difficult time for me with a small baby. I had to keep a patch over the eye to keep out the light, for light made it very painful. This condition kept returning every year or so for about three years.

I had just returned home one day from the doctor's and was bathing my eye with hot applications when a friend, who at one time had been a neighbor of mine, came to call on me. She talked to me of God, and when she left, I noticed that my eye was much better. When my husband came home from work that evening, I was able to go to the door. He exclaimed, "Oh, have you taken up Christian Science?" I didn't know what he meant at the time.
