It would take a volume to relate even a part of the many healings I have experienced through Christian Science: effects of accidents, hereditary symptoms, physical problems related to beliefs of aging, financial needs, and so on.

During my college days, while reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I had a healing of a chronic throat problem without fully realizing that it was a Christian Science healing and that the truth of God and my perfect selfhood as God's image had healed me. I wish I could say that I then became a devoted student of Christian Science. At this time I was only interested in getting at the truth about the physical universe. So it took trials to send me back to Christian Science. These confirmed Mrs. Eddy's statement that "trials are proofs of God's care" (Science and Health, p. 66).

Meantime, the man whom I had married became interested in a "mind science." But when he was attacked by an old enemy, rheumatic fever, and was given up by the medical profession, he turned to Christian Science and through the help of a consecrated practitioner was healed of that trouble, along with a so-called incurable heart condition. Seeing my husband change instantly from a crippled state to the active use of legs, arms, and body in perfect freedom was the most enlightening experience of my life.
