Escape from Mortal Existence
There is no escape from Life. Life is God, immortal Mind. It is self-existent consciousness, which has always been and always will be. Every individual consciousness—you and I—coexists forever with the divine, infinite consciousness, immortal Life.
This view of life permeates the Bible. Here God is first, and man is God's offspring. But this view is being challenged today, perhaps more than ever before. People are losing sight of the source of their conscious being, the I am that inspired Moses to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. The material or mortal sense of existence may not be more evident, but the human mind is giving it much more attention.
Like a psychoanalyst dissecting a dream, human beings search deeper and deeper in their observation of material effects, and from these effects they inductively hypothecate material causes. So wrapped up in the complexities of material existence are the minds of humans or mortals that it has become a rare thing to hear someone inquire as to the primal origin of life and intelligence. In fact, it is not unusual for one who makes such an inquiry to be told that such a question shows that he has strayed into the realm of the mystical or metaphysical.
