When I was in my tenth year, my father was healed of blindness

When I was in my tenth year, my father was healed of blindness. The doctors had all agreed he would never see again. He was an editor for a morning paper, and, of course, it seemed the end of his career. As a last resort, having no faith whatsoever in the outcome, but simply to say he had done all, he tried Christian Science. I observed the color returning to his eyes and his joy being restored. He was completely healed through prayer in Christian Science and returned to his former position on the paper, remaining there until he was seventy years of age. After his healing he immediately enrolled me in a Christian Science Sunday School.

My father and I always went alone to the Christian Science services and Wednesday testimony meetings. The rest of the family went to the Protestant church to which we had previously belonged.

I am now eighty-four years of age. Following my father's healing I never took medicine or employed a doctor.
