I am grateful to Christian Science for my understanding of God, which has enabled me to prevent problems from arising, as well as to solve many personal and business problems. As stated in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 369): "The prophylactic and therapeutic (that is, the preventive and curative) arts belong emphatically to Christian Science, as would be readily seen, if psychology, or the Science of Spirit, God, was understood."

My interest in Christian Science is due to my mother who lived a life of love and benefited so greatly from her study of Christian Science. At one time she had a remarkable healing of chest burns caused by scalding.

My parents began attending the Church of Christ, Scientist, in 1926. I attended only a few times. Although interested and impressed by the services, I did not at that time sever my relationship with the Evangelical Church in which I was active as a Sunday School teacher, superintendent of the Sunday School, and treasurer of the Church Council.
