The Joy of Life
Joy is much more than a momentary state of happiness one feels when something good has taken place. It is the heart's eternal spring, which never dries up, and exists independently of any outward circumstance or material condition. Indeed, the joy of divine Life can inspire one even in formidable difficulties when he knows that God, good, is ever present and that, in reality, only good is going on.
Joy is not just a fair-weather friend. It is inseparable from Life, God. It is natural to express joy, for man, being God's image, reflects this divine quality constantly.
Joy is expressed humanly in many ways. It is an acknowledgment and expectancy of good, an unshakable confidence in it. It is a willingness to wait for divine direction and go forward into paths unknown, or into one not to personal liking at all.
