Perpetual Honorable Enlistment
In our day, when military service appears to occupy so much of humanity's time and attention, it is appropriate to consider what time and attention one is giving, secretly or openly, to that overlooked demand of the spiritual life: perpetual honorable enlistment.
We may ask ourselves if we are actively, cheerfully, and constantly utilizing the great universal freedom that has been given us in Christian Science.
Mrs. Eddy reminds us that "the Christian Scientist has enlisted to lessen sin, disease, and death, and he overcomes them through Christ, Truth, teaching him that they cannot overcome us." Message to The Mother Church for 1901, p. 15; Thus the devout Christian Scientist is steadfastly endeavoring to discharge his duty honorably.
