A Helmet for Johnny
[For preschoolers]
"A donkey wearing a cap! That's funny," Johnny laughed out loud.
"Yes, it's funny all right." His mother closed the book they had been reading. "But wasn't Giorgio smart to put a bonnet on Carlo to keep the flies out of his ears?"
"He sure was, and look how big Carlo's ears are!" Johnny pointed to the picture of the donkey on the book Why Carlo Wore a Bonnet by Madeleine Hughes. He felt his own ears. "I'm glad mine aren't that long, 'cause then flies could get in them."
