My expression of thanks for Christian Science is long overdue. I had the privilege of attending Sunday School from the age of three till I was twenty, and I am very happy that our two children are also enjoying it. I have had many experiences of healing, protection and guidance, and would like to tell of one or two which helped my spiritual growth.

When I was a young girl, I had an overwhelming sense of shyness, and rather simple duties were an ordeal to me. I had just started ushering in our branch church Sunday School, and I was told at the beginning of the month that I had to conduct the little service the ushers have before performing their duties. I dreaded the thought of reading before the group, and doing it hung like a black cloud above my head.

On the Saturday evening before this meeting my mother and I were out visiting, and on the way home we were running for our train, when I slipped and badly sprained my ankle. The injury was quite alarming. The thought came to me that I certainly would not be able to go to Sunday School, but right away we both knew that I must be in my place in Sunday School the next morning.
