"I will give you rest"
Although many people have never had more time or longer holidays for rest and recreation than they now enjoy, too often a true sense of rest is missing because the real source of rest and composure is not recognized.
One of the most familiar and comforting promises Christ Jesus left for a restless world, ancient or modern, is, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matt. 11:28; Here Jesus was referring, not to his human individuality, but to the Christ, Truth, he taught and practiced in quieting troubled hearts through the healing of mortal ills of every nature. He accomplished these healings through his understanding of Spirit's supremacy and matter's nothingness.
There is no disturbance, bodily pain included, like that of a troubled mind. And when some phase of error would sweep us off our feet into a state of wretchedness, there is no rest like the blessed conviction of God's presence and His ability to guide us.
