The Relevance of the Bible

The Bible is more relevant to our times than to any previous age because Christian Science has interpreted its content correctly, as countless healings brought about by its interpretations prove. The Bible has carried on through centuries as the most powerful instrument ever placed in the hands of humanity. Its contribution to the world is beyond measure, and its influence for good increases, regardless of resistance to the freedom from materialism that it teaches.

If it had not been for the influence of the Bible, people today would not see so widely that impurity, crime, disorder, lawlessness, and disease are abnormal—not the true way of life—and that they can be destroyed by eternal truths that reverse evil.

Decency, honesty, order, mercy, respect for law, health—all taught by the Bible—are Scriptural standards that dominate the Christian and that steadily develop in the conscience of the entire human community.
