Christian Science Is Different!

Where there is no difference, nothing new, there is no challenge to investigate. And where there is no willingness to investigate, nothing is learned. As Christian Scientists we must dare to be different! And when mankind learn the practicality of this difference because of our example, because of what we know and practice of Christian Science, how can they remain indifferent to investigating this religion for themselves?

What is it that makes Christian Science different from all other religions? It is the healing of sin and disease through the power of the Christ. In pointing up this difference Mrs. Eddy writes, "Healing has gone on continually; yet healing, as I teach it, has not been practised since the days of Christ." Then to enlarge on this point she continues: "What is the cardinal point of the difference in my metaphysical system? This: that by knowing the unreality of disease, sin, and death, you demonstrate the allness of God. This difference wholly separates my system from all others." Unity of Good, pp. 9, 10;

Christ Jesus showed the people that there was a decided difference between the God they had been worshiping and the one he knew and called Father. God had said through the prophets that we are neither to be afraid nor dismayed, and the Psalmist sang that God would forgive "all thine iniquities" and heal "all thy diseases." Ps. 103:3; Jesus urged the people to take God at His word, to learn to know Him as Father of all, giving only good to His children and withholding from none. Then, to prove the practicality of this teaching, he performed many wonderful works in reforming sinners, restoring the deformed and diseased to health, and even raising the dead.
