ALONE?
Until I had been alone
In a land distant
From family and friends,
Surrounded by the insidious and persistent
Sense testimony of
Violence and hate and fear,
And there had felt the presence
Of the supporting thought and prayer
Of those who know and love me,
So clearly
Present
I nearly
Heard the comforting word—
I had not grasped
The omnipresence of Love.
