You Don't Have to Plod
[For young adults]
Have you ever noticed how some people are active and alert all the time? They always have useful things to do and are busy getting them done. As a result they are happy and successful. These people are "with it."
But there are others who doze and daydream and work at a fraction of their ability. They appear to be plodding along in a quagmire of procrastination and laziness. As a result they miss opportunities for advancement and often have a dull feeling at the end of the day.
Many of these people deeply long to get out of their monotonous routine. They truly want to be alert and keen and actively use their talents. How can they do it? By gaining dominion over their thinking through Christian Science. Thought precedes every action, including inactivity and laziness. Behind laziness may be fear of frustration or fatigue or perhaps a belief that there is pleasure in inert matter. Whatever the underlying thought, the individual must uncover it and cease responding to it.
