Through a desire to learn something about God that I could accept, I was lead to the Christian Science Sunday School in my early teens. Prior to this I attended a Sunday School of another denomination along with the rest of my family. However, it was very hard for me to accept the concept of God presented. I shall never forget my very first experience in the Christian Science Sunday School. It was like a warm and wonderful light illuminating my consciousness with the understanding that God is Love and always present to protect me. I knew I had found the answer, and with my parents' consent I continued attending this Sunday School.

Not long after, I had an opportunity to prove the healing efficacy of Christian Science and the wonderful protection of our Father's love. While crossing a busy thoroughfare near where I lived, I was hit by an oncoming truck and thrown quite a distance into the opposite lane of traffic. Immediately I declared the truths learned in the Sunday School and knew that I could never be separated from my Father-Mother God. After assuring the people who had gathered that I was not hurt, I recovered my shoes, which were thrown from my feet, brushed my clothes, and continued on my way rejoicing in God's presence. Since the next day was Sunday, I had the opportunity to tell the Sunday School class how Christian Science had been demonstrated in my escape from injury.

Although this experience happened many years ago, I shall always remember this first proof of the operation of Christian Science.
