It is with great gratitude that I tell, very belatedly, of the transformation in my life which came about through my reading of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy.

In 1934, I was overtaken by a breakdown in health. Over a period of many months I was treated by several doctors. After this long period of suffering, during which time I was unable to work, I not only did not seem to improve but rather grew worse.

In this frightful dilemma, being afraid to live and afraid to die, I attended a service in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. I entered the church cold and wet and very late, and was at once touched by the calm serenity of all around me. There were several hundred people present, and they all appeared to be happy and free. Their state of mind seemed very different from my own.
