Words truly are inadequate to express my gratitude to God for all...

Words truly are inadequate to express my gratitude to God for all the blessings received through Christian Science, my gratitude for Christ Jesus, our dear Master, and for Mrs. Eddy, the revelator of Christian Science.

Just before Christmas two years ago, while on my way to work, I fell down a flight of stairs leading from my apartment and landed with both feet under me. Immediately I declared that I was not hurt, knowing the reason why, namely that I could not be separated from God, good, even for an instant. I slowly climbed the stairs and immediately called a practitioner to give me support through prayer in Christian Science.

Both feet began to swell alarmingly. Realizing that I needed help, I asked to be taken to a Christian Science rest home, where I was a bed patient for five days. Someone had suggested that I might have an X ray to determine whether the anklebones, insteps, and toes were broken, for the appearance of them seemed to give credence to this. When I told the practitioner what had been suggested, I am so grateful to say he did not give his human opinion, but simply stated kindly, "Let's see; we need first to get rid of the belief that an accident occurred, and then we will handle the belief of the X–ray pictures."
