Instant Denial
In the practice of Christian Science much depends upon one's immediate response to a disturbing situation. If one is not alert when some difficulty is presented to his thought, his first response may be: "What is it? What shall I do about it?"
An alert Christian Scientist turns at once to God. Perhaps his first thought will be to recall these words from the Gospel of John: "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:3; He may then ask himself, "Did God make this disturbing situation, this painful problem that is presenting itself to me? Is it true about me? Did God send it to me? Does it lead to good or proceed from it?"
These questions, when properly answered, unfailingly point to the unreality of evil, for the Bible states, "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Gen. 1:31;
