RADIO PROGRAM NO. 336 - Release from Tension at Work

[The speaker is Jack Krieger, a former businessman who is now active in the healing ministry of Christian Science. The questioner is Richard Lombardi, an advertising executive.]

Questioner: Because of the pace of living and business today more and more people are under mental strain and nervous anxiety caused by demanding quotas and deadlines. I'm sure a lot of us would love to get out from under this tension; but how does one go about it?

Speaker: I can certainly sympathize with the person who feels driven to get a job done. But the very motives that impel one in his work, and actually not the job itself, are what underlie his mental strain and nervous anxiety. What enables an individual to begin to get out from under tension at work is to look beyond self–centered motives or fears to recognize man's God–given motivation.
