Through suffering and an injustice done to my husband, we have found this statement to be true: "Man's extremity is God's opportunity."
My husband had worked with one company thirty-four years from the time he left college. In those days most companies put through a pension plan, but he and others were let out without a pension, and younger men were hired. The sense of suffering and injustice led us to seek more diligently to find God. Our knowledge of Him was that of a personal God.
One day I passed a Christian Science Reading Room and stopped to read the citations from the books in the window. Then I went in and bought a copy of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
