PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, help me to love Truth most,
placing it above all else,
a staff on which to lean,
a lighted torch held high,
not egocentric;
praying always
to share this Truth with others.
Help me to quell the sharp retort,
the angered pride,
and, when tempted to judge,
to look first
within my own thought,
stretching it on the pattern of Christliness,
measuring it by what the Master taught,
until,
rendered clean and purified by love,
I see no man to judge or criticize;
no man condemned,
no sick or inly blind—
only Thy perfect self
revealed to all mankind.
