Spiritual Discernment Restores Sight

True sight is spiritual sense, a mental faculty. Christ Jesus said, "Having eyes, see ye not?" Mark 8:18; Mrs. Eddy gives this definition of "eyes" in Science and Health: "Spiritual discernment,—not material but mental." Science and Health, p. 586;

When one discerns the true nature of sight as a function of divine Mind, it becomes obvious that vision has never been materially organic, though it seems so to human sense. True sight has never been a condition of the eyes. It has always been a faculty of Mind, perfect and intact.

Sight belongs to Soul, God, and can never be lost or obstructed, for in the allness of God there are no impediments to His perfection. Similarly, there can be no impediments to God's perfect reflection, man, who expresses only that which belongs to his Maker. Man reflects the forever unchanged seeing, or discernment, of Soul.
