Our whole way of life was changed for the better when Christian Science was welcomed into our home. Two doctors had told my husband that there was no hope that I would live, and one said that it would be a waste of time and money even to send me to the hospital. At this point we asked for Christian Science treatment, purchased the King James Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and began the daily study of these two precious books. I'm very glad that we were instructed in the importance of the daily study of the complete current Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly. This prayerful study has continued to be a natural way to begin each day.

What had been diagnosed as an incurable heart condition, along with numerous other complications, was healed. What a happy day it was when I cleaned out all the bottles and boxes of drugs and medicines and threw them out! The sad prognosis was reversed, and I had the indescribable joy of living and bringing up our two boys in Christian Science.

We were heavily in debt at that time. Smoking and drinking were a part of our way of living. At times the problems seemed formidable, but with the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner these vanished just as mist before sunshine. Christ Jesus' command (Matt. 6:33), "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" was a constant inspiration and proved to be the literal truth. We studied the counsel given by Mrs. Eddy (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 307): "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for to-morrow: it is enough that divine Love is an everpresent help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment." As we held to these and many other powerful healing promises, our home became a much happier and healthier one. We have found God to be the source of infinite protection and supply.
