A few years ago I expressed gratitude in the Christian Science periodicals for all the blessings this Christ Science has brought me. "They are new every morning," as we read in Lamentations (3:23).
Recently I experienced a beautiful manifestation of the power of God. For some years I had a small goiter, which those around me felt should be treated medically. I was always opposed to this, and I prayed from time to time to see the unreality of it. One day one of my acquaintances spoke to me about it, very kindly advising a treatment by plants. Then I realized that it could not remain this way. I was not representing God properly.
I asked for treatment from a friend who was a Christian Science practitioner. She gave me a treatment and asked me to study and ponder references taken from the works of Mrs. Eddy. I felt that I had something that needed reforming within me, and I applied myself to the task the best I could. The healing came. What gratitude and what joy!
