Utilizing Spiritual Sense
Every human being has spiritual sense, although it is obvious that many people let it lie dormant within them, utilizing it very little. No one can really live without this sense. It is the very spark of the life that can never end. It is the consciousness of God, good, and His creation. We are all confronted with the need to recognize this precious capacity within us and to utilize it constantly until it fully possesses and controls our character and our way of life.
Only through spiritual sense can we become aware of the unseen universe of spiritual ideas and qualities that surrounds us, the real universe that Christ Jesus called heaven. Without spiritual sense we would neither recognize nor use God-created ideas or such qualities as truthfulness, justice, mercy, wisdom, intelligence, purity, and love. It is these qualities that unite human consciousness with Mind, God, and make our present sense of existence bearable and often even delightful. It is these unseen qualities that give us the power to bring about Christian Science healings.
To the five physical senses these glorious elements are entirely unknown. But life would indeed be bleak without these elements. Through many centuries the reflecting of divine qualities has been gradually opening to humanity the kingdom of heaven as an ever-present state of Mind. And in even measure the material senses have been subordinated to spiritual sense and made to lose their claim to control men's lives and state of health.
