It is with great joy and gratitude to God for Mrs. Eddy, who through the revelation of Christian Science made it possible for us to understand and use the healing method of Christ Jesus, that I relate this experience.

While walking in my garden one day, I fell over a wire with severe impact. Having been a medical nurse many years ago before taking up the study of Christian Science, I knew that I had severely injured my hip and pelvis and that there was an injury in one thigh.

The accident happened so suddenly that I started to cry. The instant I realized what I was doing I said, "No, this won't do!" and began to think through this sentence in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 424): "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony." I continued, "Dear God, I will stand and walk to the house in Your strength."
