My gratitude for the healing Science of Christianity as taught by Jesus and spiritually interpreted and demonstrated by Mrs. Eddy has deep and sustaining roots.

Our introduction to Christian Science came many years ago when our little girl of eighteen months had spreading sores on her wrist and arm. I was told that it was ringworm and was given a medicine to daub on the spots. This was such a messy business that I rebelled. A friend of mine who attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, saw my trouble and told me of her little boy's healing of ringworm in Science. I eagerly followed her direction and visited a practitioner, who lent me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

There were many things which I did not then understand, but the practitioner said, "Read the chapter on Prayer." The chapter on Prayer and daily conversations with the practitioner gave me confidence and opened my mind to new concepts. It was Monday evening when I first visited her. On Friday morning I could not see any evidence of the sores on the chubby arm, and there has never been a recurrence of the trouble. My gratitude was boundless. God did, indeed, heal! Right then I became a student of Christian Science and have had many healings over the years. That little girl now has children of her own who are learning in the Christian Science Sunday School the truth of God and man.
