God's World: Room for All

Moses gave the Israelites this message from God when they were in sight of the Promised Land: "Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land." Deut. 1:8; Then Moses added, "The Lord your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude."

In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says: "Divine Science, the Word of God, saith to the darkness upon the face of error, 'God is All-in-all,' and the light of ever-present Love illumines the universe. Hence the eternal wonder,—that infinite space is peopled with God's ideas, reflecting Him in countless spiritual forms." Science and Health p. 503; Thus did the great Hebrew lawgiver see the children of Israel and the revelator of Truth to this age see the children of God.

The mortal, or carnal, mind presents another picture of the universe. It says that the earth is swarming with people who tend to get in each other's way. As the population increases, each person seems a threat to the peace and harmony of others and to the harmonies and beauties of nature. It matters not whether one lives and works in a large city, a suburban or a rural area, open country, or deep woods, there are few whose lives are untouched by the so-called population explosion.
