Church Dedications

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (Fifth Church) Citizen-News November 19, 1966

On October 12, 1909, Christian Science Society, Hollywood, was organized by sixteen members and received recognition from The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. This step followed logically the growing interest in Christian Science, resulting from many healings. The first services of this society were held twelve days later in the Masonic Hall.... The Sunday School opened with seven classes.

On November 30 of the same year this society was reorganized as First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hollywood. A Reading Room on Hollywood Blvd. was opened at the same time.
