Christ Jesus said in his Sermon on the Mount ...

Christ Jesus said in his Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 7:9—11): "What man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" I had always attended an orthodox church and often thought about this passage. Finally I came to the conclusion that God did not send suffering and that there must be a different explanation for sickness. As though in consequence of my conclusion, I was introduced to Christian Science by some friends in England and knew I had found the truth.

I wish to express my gratitude for the wonderful protection I enjoyed during four years of active service during the First World War. Since then I have had the following healings.

At the insistence of relatives who were not Christian Scientists I was examined by a doctor and found to have a growth in the bladder. I decided to rely only on Christian Science and sought the help of a practitioner. I held to the words of St. Paul, "Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (II Cor. 6:2); and as a result of my own study and the practitioner's work, I was soon healed.
