Church Center
PROGRESS REPORT No. 7
For the first time, people will be able to enter the Extension of The Mother Church through a front door.
Framed by tall Corinthian columns and a high, arching portico, the new formal entrance will face a large landscaped plaza extending to Massachusetts Avenue.
Few people are aware that there has never been a central entrance to the Extension. The design clearly makes provision for this possibility, but for more than 60 years it has remained unfulfilled. This long-sought addition to the Extension will finally be achieved as an integral part of the Church Center building program.
