THE FRAGRANCE OF HER NAME
Ruth 1:16, 17
She made the name so lovely—one to be
Filled with the fragrance of fidelity;
For who can speak her name and not recall
Ruth's life? Mere loyalty to husband's kin
Would have been good, but that was far from all.
No futile longing hers for what had been.
She looked ahead. She spoke her gracious piece:
"Entreat me not to leave thee, nor to cease
From following after thee...and...thy God
Shall be my God...thy people shall be mine."
And from that day, each trusting step she trod
Led to unfoldment of God's good design.
