"Now is the time"

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes: "'Now,' cried the apostle, 'is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation,'—meaning, not that now men must prepare for a future-world salvation, or safety, but that now is the time in which to experience that salvation in spirit and in life. Now is the time for so-called material pains and material pleasures to pass away, for both are unreal, because impossible in Science." Science and Health, p. 39;

If mortal mind, or error, seems to hold sway and we have accepted the belief that matter is real, we need to change our thinking in order to experience present salvation. We do not heal or improve a material condition by conjecturing about it or ruminating upon it. In order to overcome the limitations of mortal sense, we must improve our understanding of God and maintain the divine facts of being as our only real and true status.

Christian Science reveals man and the universe as they are in reality. It does not make over or create either one. There is no past and no future to the demonstration of divine Science. Health and life and everything associated with them, such as energy, vitality, well-being, and constant freshness, already exist as manifestations of eternity. They have always been, are now, and ever will be. If the real man were not eternally well, he would lack an essential characteristic of his Father-Mother God, and therefore he would not be a true manifestation of divinity.
