Many blessings, joys, and other evidences of God's love and protection have been mine and my family's through the study of Christian Science. To know that God is All, that God, good, is ever present, is indeed a source of great joy and strength.

When Christian Science was introduced to me, I was very negative about it. Gradually, however, as I began to become acquainted with Christian Scientists, I felt that these people had something that was unique but good. I began to attend church and to read the Lesson-Sermon, provided in the Quarterly, but I did not consider myself a Christian Scientist.

At the time our second child was born, I was in the care of a doctor. A complication arose in the form of severe hemorrhaging; and although it had subsided after a week's stay in the hospital, the doctor said that if it should return after I had returned home, I should call him immediately and that it would probably be necessary for me to have an operation. The difficulty did return after I had been home a few days. I became so weak that I had to remain flat on my back. I knew that this could not continue, and it was then that I turned completely to Christian Science and asked for the help of a practitioner. I had little understanding of Science, but I did have complete faith that God could heal. This sustained me. After a short time I was strong enough to be up, and I felt some improvement each day. The complete healing came when a ball of tissue was passed. I realized that what the doctor would have done with a surgeon's knife, Christian Science had accomplished through mental surgery.
