Throughout the years of my study of Christian Science I have been grateful for the irreversible power of Truth. The very way in which this religion came into my experience has always seemed an impressive and comforting example of this power. Christian Science was presented to me twice. The first time it was recommended that I see a practitioner because of a skin problem. The second time its presentation consisted of a discussion of the first and second chapters of Genesis. I met the explanation, not with resistance, but with surprise and indifference. I would have said then that I did not understand it. A few years later, however, in a time of human need, every word of this explanation came back to me. I suddenly realized it had been completely logical and convincing.

It led me to borrow the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and to read it eagerly. Many questions which had bothered me were answered to my complete satisfaction. Healings began to take place. The first I recall was that of a very painful foot, which was completely healed by evening after a practitioner had answered my request for help.

We have had healings of the smoking habit and warts, as well as of tonsillitis, which had been diagnosed as such many times before we turned to Christian Science; a skin problem of long standing, which had not yielded to medical treatment; car sickness, earache, coughs and colds; and a spinal injury, which also had been un-helped by medical attention. Of the births of our three children, the one which took place after I began to study Christian Science was the only normal and harmonious one.
