Take Refuge in the Ark
In Genesis is found the deeply significant account of Noah and the ark. In this narrative we read: "Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord....Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God." Gen. 6:8,9; This rectitude is in striking contrast to the evil, corruption, and violence which are pictured as present and powerful in that age.
Noah, being forewarned by God that the wickedness would be utterly destroyed by a flood, was divinely commanded, "Make thee an ark." v. 14; The account then shows that by entering into this ark Noah and his family were saved from the flood.
With wonderful spiritual insight, Mrs. Eddy leads us to the spiritually inspired truths symbolized by this narrative. In Science and Health she gives the following definition of "ark":
