"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined" (Isa. 9:2). This has been exemplified in my own experience.

One day three men were talking together, and I heard one man say, "I am a Christian Scientist." I had never heard of Christian Science; but I asked a very dear friend if she had, and she said, "Yes, Christian Scientists heal." It was some time before I learned of Christian Science church services; but as soon as I did, I began attending them. One night after a Wednesday evening testimony meeting I went home and emptied my medicine chest, threw everything in it away, and from that time called it my "beauty chest."

Then I purchased a Bible, a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and the current Quarterly, and I began to study the weekly Lesson-Sermon. There seemed to be no end to the difficulties confronting me at that time, but they were all completely healed and wiped out of my experience through my own study and application of Christian Science.
