Have I Yielded?

With great spiritual discernment this keen observation was made in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy: "Some people yield slowly to the touch of Truth. Few yield without a struggle, and many are reluctant to acknowledge that they have yielded; but unless this admission is made, evil will boast itself above good." Science and Health, p. 450;

The touch of Truth and Love comes gently to open hearts and minds. But how stubbornly the thinking of mortals resists giving up limited mortal beliefs! Mankind identifies stubbornness with a multitude of material or mental conditions. It recognizes a stubborn physical, financial, or mental problem. But can there be or is there anything unyielding unless it is Truth itself, which gives of its omnipotence to all?

In fact, it may be said that the only unyielding thing there is, is Truth, for eventually everything in the world of error must give in to it. Truth does not yield its power to anything or anyone. The only power is Truth itself. Nothing exists apart from it. Truth does not compromise with, dicker over, tolerate, or give the slightest concession or recognition to a claim made by a power apart from itself.
