My testimony begins with gratitude for a family of Christian Scientists I never knew, for as a young man my father boarded with them and was so impressed with the tenor of their lives that twenty years later he sent his own children to a Christian Science Sunday School. I had twelve years of regular attendance and fine instruction in Sunday School before I reached the age of twenty, and for this foundation in the teachings of Christian Science I am truly grateful. I joined a branch church just prior to leaving the Sunday School; and although my husband and I have lived in several different cities since that time, I have become a branch church member in each place, and this membership has been an avenue of growth.

Regular attendance at Sunday School has been a vital part of the education of our four children, and I am grateful for the cooperation and encouragement of my husband in this regard, even though he is not a student of Christian Science himself.

Many healings have been experienced in our home. One that stands out in memory was a severe case of chicken pox which our youngest child had when not quite two years old. Her body became covered one day with the distressing evidence of this illness. When I was putting her to bed, she repeated to me a simple saying her sisters had learned in Sunday School to express the allness of God and His ever-presence.
