Church Center

PROGRESS REPORT No. 2

The Sunday School of The Mother Church will take its place in a prominent new location as a result of recent refinements in the Church Center master plan.

To accommodate the many pupils it draws from a broad range of neighborhood families, nearby universities, and out-of-town visitors, the Sunday School has long been forced to hold separate sessions in different areas of the Original Edifice and the Extension. The nursery has been maintained in another building altogether.

When the expansion project was first announced on July 1, 1965, one of the most important considerations was space for a larger Sunday School and a nursery. At that stage of the planning, these facilities were to be included in a multipurpose auxiliary building attached to one end of the Publishing House.
