I had many warts all over my hands and fingers for a couple of years but didn't do very much about them. One day a friend of mine who was not a Christian Scientist had to have some warts removed by a doctor, who had to burn them off. When I heard and saw what he had to do to remove the warts, I decided to really work in Christian Science to solve this problem, f remembered my mother telling me that when she was about my age her first healing in Science was that of warts which were removed just by her reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy every day!

At the same time that I decided to try to heal the warts, I had an accident at school. I twisted my ankle so badly that I had to be carried out of the gym. It was time to go home, and I was carried to the bus. I refused to go to the nurse because I wanted to help myself. I worked with the Lord's Prayer, with passages from Science and Health, and with just about everything I could remember from Sunday School. I had a long walk from the bus to my house. I was in pain and limping, but I did it.

My mother helped me when I got home, and together we declared the truth. I did not miss school, although I limped for about three days. My ankle was swollen and bruised, but the pain did not stop me from doing anything. All my friends at school were very surprised that I did not stay home at all. I am sure that the good work done at this time healed the ankle; and at the same time every wart disappeared. I just woke up one morning during this time and found that they were gone. At first I could not understand how it could have happened, because I was so busy working for my ankle that I had forgotten about the warts. But then I knew that God had answered my prayer. Everything in the experience of a child of God has to be perfect.
