I wish to relate two healings that I have experienced and that might encourage others not to give in to discouragement under like circumstances. A little over four years ago I suddenly felt a strong pain in my foot. The ankle swelled also, and it became very difficult, almost impossible, for me to walk. This condition lasted for some time, and at one time I had to request treatment from a practitioner for a few days because of the pain and in order to be able to walk to my office as I was accustomed to do, some thirteen blocks away. The pain lessened, and so I dismissed the practitioner.

However, for about three months I couldn't walk without limping. As the truth of my real spiritual selfhood as the child of God was held to constantly and consistently, the condition finally disappeared. During this period at no time did I give in, but I continued to walk to the office and to be about my Father's business.

The following year the other foot was affected in just the same way, and I realized that I had held the fear of a return in my consciousness. My grandson, an earnest student of Christian Science, was with me at the time, and we discussed the problem and what might lie behind it in my thinking.
