A few years ago our family was ice-skating with friends.
A few years ago our family was ice-skating with friends. I was involved in a mishap in which I received injuries to my face. Unable to maintain a sense of balance while standing, I remained quietly at the side of the pond for a few moments, silently declaring that man is unfallen and that there are no accidents in God's kingdom. I also remember declaring other spiritual truths from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and applying them.
Our friends were sincerely concerned but were quietly assured that all would be well. I asked my wife to take me back to our home where the assistance of a Christian Science practitioner was obtained. The practitioner quoted, "He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken" (Ps. 34:20), and stated that my thought needed to be brought into harmony with truth. The practitioner further stated that man is unfallen and not subject to material laws and that he was, is, and always will be perfect.
Fears of various sorts were quickly and quietly dispelled by the realization of the ever-presence of God and through the understanding that there are no material powers that can affect God's idea, man. Almost immediately after those fears that disturbed me were allayed, a dislocated jawbone reset itself, and an adjustment took place to my eye so that vision and balance were again normal.
