WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST
[The works in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on March 13, 1966.]
I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees (Eccl. 2:6)
Pools of water were not only pleasing in effect but essential in a land where water was scarce. From these pools the water would be conducted in channels to irrigate the gardens and orchards. The Revised Standard Version translates the verse thus: "I made myself pools from which to water the forest of growing trees."
The peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces (Eccl. 2:8)
