I should like to relate how...
I should like to relate how Christian Science changed my whole life from an existence filled with fear, without a spiritual purpose, without any knowledge of eternal Life, into an existence filled with joy, harmony, health, and security.
I belonged to a non—Christian religion when eight years ago my sister-in-law presented me with a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. At that time I was in a state of intense confusion and fear, after having been operated on twice because I was suffering from cancer. The doctors were still treating me with radium radiation, and they told my husband and parents that I could hope to live only a few years longer.
At first the textbook did not interest me very much, but then I reached page 4, on which I found the following sentence: "The habitual struggle to be always good is unceasing prayer." This statement opened my eyes. This was what I had been searching for, and a deep sense of happiness came over me.
