SOUND OF RAIN
Run
, run ahead, swift feet,
firm hands are holding the mantle;
nothing can cause you to stumble,
nothing can stop the free running,
glad cry of the eager heart.
Run on ahead, swift feet!
Glad heart, O heart now upsurging,
be winged to the running feet,
guiding them home to shelter,
when soil surrenders her thirst,
to rest, as the ground drinks deep.
Run, run ahead, swift feet!
Margery Macdonald Cantlon
