"To day if ye will hear his voice"

In the Scriptures are instances of patriarchs, prophets, and apostles who heard God's voice. In Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we are told, "The Soul-inspired patriarchs heard the voice of Truth, and talked with God as consciously as man talks with man" (p. 308). Many generations have loved and been uplifted and comforted by the experiences of those who listened to God and were preserved. Jacob at Peniel, Daniel in the lions' den, the three Hebrew captives in the fiery furnace are among the familiar accounts.

She felt herself inadequate and was frightened. In her dismay she cried out mentally, "God, help me."

Instantly the answer came in these words from the prophet Isaiah (41:10): "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
